Reading, Writing & Rhythm concert sells out!
May 8th, 2006
Nashville, TN ' The stars were out in Nashville last night but they weren't in the sky, they were at The Wildhorse Saloon, making some great music AND raising money for Chely Wright's Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation. Those contributing their time and talent were: Craig Morgan, Rascal Flatts, Hanna-McEuen, Jeff Hanna and Jimmy Fadden from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jann Arden, Julie Roberts, Larry John McNally, Billy Dean, Delbert McClinton and special guest Ricky Skaggs. There were 2000 excited fans who attended the sold out event, which included a concert and a silent auction and raised well over $100,000. The concert was broadcast around the world live on XM Satellite radio and was a first for this event.

The All Access pass which was auctioned on Ebay went to high bidders Jerry and Patti Peterson from Wellsville, KS and they had the opportunity to hang out with the celebs backstage and take in all that happened behind the scenes. Other key auction items bringing high dollars were, the George Strait Fly Away, which included airfare and meet & greet passes to meet the man himself, a $1000 shopping spree to an exclusive Nashville clothing boutique called Flavour and the beautiful suede coat worn by Martina McBride in her 'How Far' video.

The fun wasn't over after the show ended though, fan club members were treated to an opportunity to meet Chely up close and personal as she visited with them and signed autographs until the last person left The Wildhorse Saloon at 5:30am this morning.

A lot of hard work goes into an event this large and so does a lot of money. The sponsors of this event who generously gave of their time and money were Best Buy, Heartland Dental, American Airlines, Harley Davidson of Cool Springs, Creative Artists Agency, Flavour, BMI, The Marriott Vanderbilt Hotel and the Wildhorse Saloon.

The money made at this wonderfully successful event will be use to further Music Education and enrichment in public schools throughout the United States.
